Paris through a lens
A Morning in Paris
It was a rainy Saturday morning in Paris. We had just finished breakfast at a small café near our hotel. The morning wasn’t too cold, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll to explore the city. As we sipped our daily dose of caffeine, we spontaneously decided to visit Le Cimetière du Père-Lachaise, which wasn’t too far away and besides, I had never been there before.
We were greeted by a gentle breeze and a monochromatic sky that day. I couldn’t help but be amazed by the place. The tranquility of being surrounded by so many people, all without a voice anymore, yet still holding countless (untold?) stories.
I began to explore the area through the lens of my camera, capturing that rainy morning on a 35mm film. I’ve always been fascinated by the magic of analog photography. Consider it for a moment: you pick up the camera, patiently wait for the perfect moment, press a button… and voilà! That very moment is forever preserved on film. Isn’t it truly remarkable?
Paris is always a good idea, and a continuous source of inspiration for a photography enthusiast like myself. In this particular instance, I was in the city for just a weekend, but my camera has forever preserved few memories that you can explore below.
Anyway, we spent a few hours wandering around, paying homage to Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, and Honoré de Balzac, singing along to Jim Morrison’s songs, expressing gratitude to Georges Méliès for his contributions to the cinema, and simply basking in the beauty and enchantment of one of the most captivating places in Paris.
